How to become a First Responder

Being a First Responder is a big challenge.  If you are up to the task, it is also extremely rewarding.  As a First Responder with our team, you will consistently train and learn to provide an excellent standard of pre-hospital care.

With L'Équipe d'intervention médicale de Saint-Lazare, those who are interested in becoming First Responders first become trainees.  You learn about how the service runs, and what it takes to make the commitment to being a First Responder.  You meet the people who are First Responders and have a chance to find mentors.

After your trainee stage, EIMSL can sponsor you to take the 6o-hour training course for First Responders.  This course is certified by the Agence de la santé et des service sociaux de la Montérégie.

Here is a brief synopsis of the application process at EIMSL

1. You contact EIMSL because you're interested in becoming a First Responder - call or email, and submit an application.
2. EIMSL personnel discuss membership with you, usually over the phone, answering any questions you have.

You may download the Application Form below.  It can be filled out on your computer and emailed to L'Équipe d'intervention médicale or, you can print the form and send it to us by mail.

Selected applicants will be interviewed.
