Emergency: dial "911"

Did you know?

If you call 911 from a cell phone, not only is the address information unavailable for the emergency dispatcher, but your call also has to go through several steps. Your cell-phone call is first directed to a dispatch centre serving Montreal, then to the central dispatch centre serving Saint Lazare (and the rest of our region), and finally, if you are calling with a medical emergency, the call is directed to Alerte Santé. The lesson? When it's possible, dial 911 from your land line.

Contacting The First Responders

First Responders are dispatched through the 911 system. In any emergency, call 911 for assistance. In medical emergencies*, the First Responders will be sent along with the ambulance or any other emergency services required to assist you.

* The 911 medical dispatch service Alerte Santé determines the priority of calls for assistance. Alerte Santé only dispatches the First Responders to the 2 highest priority medical emergencies in St-Lazare.
